Free Mod: Color door pillars
i hardly even notice it on my white max and i just did it the other day (refer to post #14) Also none of my friends noticed it either....i think it makes the side of the car look really good, because it makes the trim around the windows stand out a lot more, and it looks more natural, considering the door is all one piece.....i know a lot of people would prefer the blacked out look, but i really like my color, and i think it looks unique this way

Redmax (4th genner and owner of Redlinemax.com) told me how to do it, so I have to give him props. Basically, you'll need a heat gun and an exact-o knife to do it. The door pillars on the max are actually just black tape covering the stock paint. You score the tape around the edge (don't go through the tape, just score it so it'll tear. Heat up the tape and just pull it away. Here's what it looks like:

I think, by far, this is the best free mod.

Just a note: I've had mine done for about a month now and not one single person noticed. Corey had his done for as long as I've known him and I didn't notice it until he told me about it. It's one of those subtle mods that don't stand out per se, but when added together with other things, can make your car unique. Did any of you notice my grill is also painted to match the car? Probably not because the mod makes the car look like it should have when it rolled out of the factory. I just might shave my trunk next...

I was going to move up to rochester this year, but i think staying down south was a bit better, just because my car...i love the winters up there, otherwise, and if i could afford to live up there AND have a beater for the winter, then i would have done it in a second....

when did this happen? there wasn't any damage to your car was there? my dad has had three blowouts in his audi A4 and each time, it's dented up the fender pretty bad, and he's had to have it replaced....

Thanks, GBAUER...i think so too
it is really difficult to judge it with the pictures provided, but most people would think it came that way stock...if you look in the parking lot, about 50% of the cars have body colored door pillars, and the other 50% has, of course, black door pillars....i had never really paid attention until i did this...

next time you're in a parking lot, pay attention to this, and you'll be surprised...there are a lot more cars out there with body colored door pillars than you think....

I think he's just a little green with envy over our fully customized, high performance door pillars! Don't you know that the weight reduction and added turbulance control is worth 30 whp! Not to mention the flash added to our cars! That's worth the big bucks at car shows!
