Backfiring issues

Hey guys, wanted to see if anyone else is having backfiring issues. My car is a 3.0 with the power valve removed, for now. The rest of my mods are listed in my sig.
When the engine is cold, I backfire going from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd, it's kind of embarassing. Also, anytime I'm really kicking it, it backfires like crazy.
I do have a check engine light that comes on and off, warning me of an o2 sensor problem, but it's random.
Anyone else ever have this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks

Might be the fact that you have the high flow cat.

Get a resonator somewhere on there.

I have a high flow cat and mine doesn't backfire.

The cattman catback that I have has a resonator already. I really dont think that it has anything to do with the cat b/c I found out after the fact that our main stock cats are already high flow. Also I have had the aftermarket cat on for a few years now, and this is a recent problem. Most, if not all, of my mods are have been on the car for at least 2 years.

People w/test pipes get back firing since the unburned fuel is not catalyzed and ignites due to the high exhaust temps...sounds like you're running rich and your catalytic converter isn't doing anything...

Other than that, I'm not really sure how to explain it...

I think it's normal...I mean if you have a full exhaust setup...your bound to hear some popping...

Can you explain in depth how loud the backfiring is? As for my car, I am running fully catless and I get very loud pops when I left off the throttle...sounds just like my friend's cat-less wrx....check out my sig if you want to hear it

Frank brought up a good point...you have an RT high flow cat...i heard those cats fail very quickly...and since u said u had it for over 2yrs...I won't be suprised that it recently failed thats why your getting all the backfiring....

Thanks for the response guys. I think that I still have my original cat somewhere in the garage. I might try and switch those out and see if it helps.
