Sorry if I'm repeating someone but I know for a fact that there are numerous complaints to Nissan that the lights on the new Maxima are off angle or something, when I get home I will send a link to the page since I don't have it, some kinda page with all the complaints for parts that are submitted by each dealer if anyone knows the link please post if not I will do so when I get back.

I think the right side headlight is aimed higher on purpose..... at least that is the conclusion we came to when we had this discussion before...

That is what I thought too due but I think that is stupid. It bothers me when driving at night. I need to readjust it so that they are both at the same level.

I had not heard the conversation before....but it stinks as people are always flashing me because they think my high beams are on. I have an appointment with the dealer to have then straighten it out. Should I cancel my appointment? I'll see if I can find the old thread.

The passenger side headlight is not aimed higher. What you are seeing is the beam pattern of both headlights. This beam pattern is similar to the European standard which allows a taller beam pattern on the right side to illuminate road signs while keeping the left side low enough so not to blind oncoming traffic

To aim your lights, park your car 25 feet in front of a wall. Make sure the hot spots in the beam pattern are at the same level and slightly lower than the headlight height. You should be good to go.

I don't know

I've owned a 2K and 2K1 maxima, and the head lights were positions the exact same on both cars. The passenger side beams seemed to be angled higher than the driver's side. I'm sure there is some purpose for that... Don't know...

it's so you don't blind on comming traffic.. the right side is aimed a lil higher to maximize visibility by projecting the light further, while the left side is aimed lower so you won't blind oncommming traffic which is usually on your left side.

Never knew that. That's actually pretty clever if it's by design.
