Extra wire in SCO Grounding Kit

All

I purchased a grounding kit from SCO and I was provided with 5 wires. I cannot seem to find anywhere on the DIY's where this last wire is supposed to go. Any suggestions or write ups from someone who has installed this would be appreciated.

It might help if you told us where you have already attached the other 4 wires...

anyhow, here is the write-up to my (homemade) grounding kit, it should give you an idea of where the wires should be hooked up on the 3.0....positions on the 3.5 are similar:

Doesn't really matter where it goes, so long as it grounds to the same point. Don't know if it not on the chassis yet, but that would be a good place to go.

So steve helped me do the ground kit.

Wires were as follows
from the alternator to the tranny
from the oil cap (wiring harness connection) to the transmission
from the Transmission to the negative battery terminal
from the Neg terminal to the frame

I have 1 remaining wire. It is just a tad shorter than the oil cap connector to the Tranny, by about 3 inches. Anyone know where this one goes?

I got the same kit a few years ago when they were called Southwest Auto. My wires go as follows:

1. Negative battery to chassis ground
2. Tranny to negative battery terminal
3. Alternator to chassis ground
4 and 5. From both engine grounds (left of oil cap) to chassis ground

My theory was to run the most direct route from these components to the chassis.

Hmm...we seem to have different locations here...but i'm not going to say Blue is wrong....becuz the ground points I gave richard were from my Blehmco kit...and my blehmco kit specifically came with instructions to mount it to those locations...

blue did your's come with instructions? if so, then that will confirm the true locations for the SCO grounding kit...as mine is different (Blehmco)

Nope, no instructions so I'm not sure if my set up is the best. Maybe I'll try your set up, suppposedly some ways are better than others. I don't think there's really a right or wrong way to do it as long as the wires are routed to a ground point somewhere.
