Windshield smashed! Pricing?

It is raining pretty hard here where I live and I get back from school and I see that my windshield is smashed. It has spider webbed crack marks throughout the entire view. My insurance deductible is $500. How much does a windshield cost?

I'm not sure of the insurance rules in CA, but in MA you get a new windshield for completely free...I got a new one this past summer...how did it crack tho...are you implying that it cracked bc of the rain..haha i assume not

Yeah, check with your insurance first. Often times you have a different deductible for glass breakage. I know I just had a chip in my windshield fixed for free through my insurance. If the windshield was replaced it would have only been a $100 deductible (my normal deductible is $500).

Forgot to mention that giant branches fall off of trees very easily. On the pillar, it is bent inward. So does the cheaper deductible apply to that bent area too?

The pillar is bent? I'm no expert but I'd venture to guess that that won't be covered simply under glass breakage.

As long as you have full coverage in Fl, 100% of all glass claims are free. Hopefully it is the same in your state.

it shouldnt cost more then $200 installed. Dont tell your insurance or they will make you pay a $500 deductible. Just go out and get it done yourself.
