Brake Help!!

I've read through the forums thoroughly and found the sticky on installing new rotors and pads. That being said, I'm having a lot of trouble with this... its been about an hour and a half and I still haven't replaced one successfully I took off the wheel and undid the two caliper bolts, as well as the two caliper bracket bolts (which are not 17mm BTW). I cannot for the life of me get the rotor off. Any suggestions?? I've beat the **** out of it with a rubber mallet and a regular hammer already.

Just hit it more?

Guessing you have already read this but:

I'd try spraying WD40 and letting it soak in for a little bit. If that fails, the next best idea from tapping I have heard is buying a 10" puller and using that to pull it off. I think you can rent them @ some of the parts stores.
Good luck!

Is your caliper still on the rotor? If so, try taking a swrewdriver and getting in between the outer edge of the rotor and the caliper and pry it off that way. You may have to go from side to side. Once the caliper is off, the rotor will need to be pounded off. If you do this, try first spraying WD40 around the hub of the rotor (assuming you're replacing it), let it sit, and then try hitting it.

If it's been a while since you changed the rotors then they are gonna be hard to come off. Spray it liberally with WD-40 and wait a while, then use a rubber mallet and give it several hard blows. It should come off.

When I changed my rear brakes a few weeks ago, I ended up having to use a hammer instead of a rubber mallet to hit the rotor several times till it fell off because it was stuck to the steel plate with the lug nut studs. And I also used the WD-40 too. This might have helped a bit.
