on the fuel stabilizer and oil change, and let me add a couple more thoughts.
Get a good quality car cover. If power is readily available, I'd leave the battery connected and just hook it up to a battery tender. It will extend the life of your battery. Other than that, I'd spray some silicone on all the rubber seals to keep them from sticking and put dessicant inside the car to keep the interior dry (and thus keep it from molding). Don't engage the parking brake.

i'll be leaving mine for 6 months when i go to afghanistan in 2 weeks
i'm leaving it on base and a buddy is gonna go start it up every couple weeks. hes also gonna drive it around base for a few minutes to keep everything moving the way its supposed to. i figure that better then just starting it and letting it idle. plus it will get the engine up to operating temp to keep the coolant moving

also, i wouldn't think a fuel stabilizer would be needed for 3 months of storage right??

I would recommend disconnecting the battery, leaving a half tank or less of gas, putting in fuel stabilizer and you should try to start it once in the middle of the winter and then when you take it out just give her a little while to warm up and get going before you drive her hard.
good luck,

Good luck in Afghanistan - going with a Guard unit, you can expect to see a lot of tower duty, ECP, or QRF. Not fun, but makes the time go by.

One thing not mentioned: run the A/C while you let it run. Sounds strange in the winter, but the hoses need to be kept moist so they don't dry out and crack come summer. Normally, the defroster use takes care of this for most people.

im leaving a checklist for the guy who will be driving it around a little. it will include full heater and full A/C. it will also keep the freon (spl?) good and keep all the vents from getting musty
