Jic A1 coilovers are in...first impressions...WOW

install went smooth, prouduct looks amazing...i set them to the second softest and gave it a run, ride felt much softer than i anticipated, not to rough at all, very barable. the handeling was very sharp, i kept expecting more lean, more roll, but it just goes where u want it to go. and this is with only a .5 ich drop!! after 2 hrs i guess they settle in a bit more and the ride got a rougher but still bareable (NY roads suck!!!)

PROS: looks, handels excellent, no miata but no stock maxima either!!! decent ride, not too hard.

CONS: no pre set hight measurements so lots of trial n error to get desired hight, i set rears to be eqaul lenth and one side came out .5 inches higher somehow?

one thing im still not sure of is do they will take a few days to settle? id like it to go down another .5 inch but a bit lazy to actually do it anyone know? and still have to get alighnment.

pics, will get more up soon...

How much were the coilovers? Could you post some side shots later on?
Area of staten island looks familiar , what part you live in?
Roads in staten island are much better i would say than the rest of NYC boroughs, they are thousand times worse here in Boston.

congrats on the purchase. good coilovers will always result in a happy driver.

the JIC coilovers use true race springs, and there is no break-in period on them like with street type springs. they should never drop more than what you've got now, so if you want them a 1/2" lower, go ahead and do it, then head to the alignment shop.

and remember.. contrary to popular belief, you can't raise/lower the car as you please without affecting your alignment. any time you change ride height, it will change your alignment. so get it set where you want it, then head to the shop to get it pointed straight.

my rears are the same, myabe we carry more wieght on one side of our cars. i keep mine on settng 3 f/r for daily driving, 2/1 if i want to have smooth ride and stil handle decent. 1/1 is just too soft, i swear its softer than stock/se

wanna have some fun go play with settings 4 and 5, esp now that its starting to get slippery out.

Will even the slightest change in height (less than 1/4th inch) change the alignment of a car? I spin the shock into the body to change height...not removing the steering knuckle bolts then spinning the mounts up/down

Yes it will, Everytime you change height it will slightly change camber and every time camber gets change your toe also changes.
