funky vais fixed...kinda
i recently noticed my car has been really slow. i investigated about the vais cause i know they break like alot and i go over 5k on a regular basis. im almost at the 70k mark so i figured mine would be broken by now
i did a few tests
first the over 5k sound test, while driving go over 5k and check for a sound difference, i know i had one b4, now nothing, i figured it broken
checked to see if it was working by checking the little L-rod moves. it did so i figured it was broke inside like it normally does.
just to be comple***ly satisfied that it was broke, i diconnected it and drove around, i noticed no difference in performance.
now for the wierd part.
i took everything apart, which was fun. i did have to tak eof my tb, i dont know how u guys that didnt got that last bolt/screw off. maybe it was the tools i was using, anyway, i take off the vais "box". and everything is perfect, the cup i solid, the rod intact.altho on the site i was using as a refernce had aspring in the assembly mine did not. i wiggled the cup, solid as a rock, the rod, i could rotate smoothly and with no resistance. i wanted tot take it out and test the car withotu it, but i guess u have to take it out towards the pass side, theres too much stuff over there to do it at the time. well confused i put everything back together, took out that tb retrictor plate thing just to at least accomplish something while i was in there.
i took my first drive and my vais works just like new, i didnt do anything, what the hey would have made it now work? also i didnt get the whistle sound some people get when they remove the restrictor plate.
funky huh?
id post pics but im sure noone needs pics of a nonbroken vais
