Reguarding the '02-'03 Headlights being stolen easily

Is there anything aftermarket or from nissan that can be installed to prevent them from being stolen so easily. I read somewhere that theves can remove them without any tools in 5-10 minutes. I wouldn't want to replace them as they are really expensive!

What are HID's and why would people want to steal them?

Really?! Is this a recall from nissan? I hope the dealer doesn't give me a hard time about getting them or play dumb about it. What makes them free in NY and no where else?

Look around. But anyways, they are stolen a lot in the Northeast, i.e. New York, New Jersey, Mass, etc. Its not a recall, they are just trying to protect their customers better.

The NEW YORK Maximas get hit the hardest there, in terms of HID theft, Nissan has a recall for them They install data dots which makes it harder for the theif to break off the tabs.

Yeap, now with the Data Dots.. they not only steal them but will damage your fenders and hood just to get them out...... so prepare yourself for longer sleepless nights...
