02 GLE Spoiler?

Hello, hello

I just purchased a 2002 GLE Black/ Black/Grey Interior and i love it, however I like the sportier look..(yea yea i shouldve got the SE, but they didnt have any I was interested in at the places I looked) Anyhow, was wondering if anyone in here has or knows of anyone with a 02 GLE that has a spoiler on it? I want to get one, but am not sure how it would look...would it look just like the SE's? Cause it may be just me, but i think the back end slopes a little differently on the SE's then on the GLE's

so anyone with any input (i.e. do u think it would look good, or look crappy, price range for the piece and installation) thanks...

The holes that need to be drilled on the trunk would be the biggest **** bag concerning price etc.

And no, all 5.5g Maximas are made from the body lines ....

Of course I like it better than not having one.

My wife's 2000 GLE has the spoiler... and I like the spoiler look on the Maxima.

You can get one cheap (painted, even) off of Ebay... and installation takes about 10 min, including the wiring.

AWESOME!

Where did you have the job done? When i bought the car (from a subaru dealer) they called Nissan and Nissan quoted the job around $500.00!

p.s. do you have any pix of it?

off topic...but on the carfax report i got with the car, it listed 3 recalls! (wow) Anyway, do I just go to a Nissan Dealer to check and see if all 3 have been done? and if not, i they will fix it at no cost to me, right?

thanks

I put a Nissan OEM spoiler on my '95 when I had it. It's not hard at all. It's just the drilling part to be worried about. If you plan on installing yourself, just make sure you make a template for the location of the mounting bolts and center it on the trunk. Apply 3M adhesive tape on the pedastools, screw down, and wire up the brake light and your done. One thing to note also, if your car didn't come with a factory spoiler (such as yours), when adding a spoiler to the trunk, it pays to replace and swap out the torsion bars. The torsion bars are usually sold with the spoiler kit. The purpose for this is that now more weight is added on the trunk (from the spoiler), the torsion bars helps distribute the weight more evenly and prevents the trunk from "slamming" with the added weight.

Thanks for the quick write-up and I will definitely look into changing the torsions bars. However, I wont be doin the job myself...Im a 20/f who knows NOTHING when it comes to cars haha, so bear with me here if/when I ask seemingly dumb questions..
