Tein h tech + illumina's = SMILES

just got mine put in thanks to Nilesh and Steve from SCO and hct67. Nilesh did a great job with install, explained everything in detail even for a noob like me to understand even though i'll never do the install myself. First thing i seen with the new suspension was the fact that i scraped coming out of Nilesh's dag on driveway. I must say, i almost went into tears. Its been like 6 months since i drove a dropped maxi.

H tech's...mmm...ride is nice but i wish i was a little lower. I would definitely say Progress or lower would be best recommendations unless u REALLY care about the ride...right now i'm on 5/5 wit the illumina's and the ride still feels so good, i'm staying like this. I ran into Newark, New Jersey downtown streets and felt the worst of the worst....next to New York streets and although the bumpyness was a little crazy, i can definitely deal with it. But i'm happy, no NOISES WHATSO EVER. Pics coming in a few days once the weather decides to behave.

Time to get an alignment and slap on this FSTB. First real mod besides my DVD player...i'm sooped

no pics yet. Waiting to get my camera from my friend. Also these springs i purchased in great shape but i got them used. I think they probably reached their settling if used, no? or do i have to wait to settle everytime they are uncompressed?

^^^^

it seems just about even. Actually, the back is dropped well enough for me. Its the front that i prefer a little lower...but i'm in class for another 2 hours...maybe when i get out things may have settled and i may b happy with it. But the drop is almost even, however i do have a sub box in the back...

I love this setup.

I have had the same setup as yours for over a year now. I am in NewYork. I run it at 3F/4R . The pic in my sig is of the drop the day after the install. They have definetly settled since then. Your going to love them .

ye i got H.Techs and illuminas and i too love the ride quality even at 5/5.

Djfrestyl (Nilesh) also did my suspension and he did a great job. I recommend him to anyone who wants their suspension changed.

When you guys say that the suspension needs to get settled, how long does it take to get settled?? Because i too would probably go with a progress drop next time just because i want less of a gap. But then again i have 16's on so maybe thats why the gap is so huge.

how much would the combination cost for just the front suspension part?

did you order them online? (this question goes for anyone on this thread)

i'm thinking about lowering the front but not too aggressive
how many inches does this combo lower? kevon1, are those 17's?

sorry for so many questions guys, but i'm new and i like to research a lot before i put mucho denaro into somethin

Ya there 17s I wanted bigger but learned my lesson in my Honda Prelude. Driving hard & NY just dont mix with 18s & 19s . It has settled quite a bit since the install I have a 2 finger gap in front & back & the ride is very good.

The install isnt that tough, all it takes is helping nilesh out a couple of times and you will be set to do it yourself

Glad you like the spings.

i thought you needed to kind of match the springs/struts so this way you don't get springs that are to low for your struts which would lead to killin them

did you all you guys buy your springs/struts online?

Illuminas safely handle about a 1.8 inch drop without too much worry about overcompressing the strut. He has the H-techs so he will be just fine.
