Poll: Yellow Fogs or Fogs to match headlights?
#43
For me, the lights on the front of my car either needed to match the HIDs exactly, or they needed to stop pretending to be "white" all together. I am a big fan of fogs that match the HID headlights, but I ended up going with yellow fogs instead. The stock fogs are a dirty halogen "white," and the effort and cost involved in getting them to truly match the HIDs is too much for me. I decided that if I couldn't get them to match the HIDs within my budget, I would just go yellow. I also got very tired of my clearance/parking lights being the ugly "white" that didn't match the headlights right next to them, so I replaced the stock bulbs with amber bulbs.

I didn't put the yellow Lamin-X on to turn my fogs yellow, really. I plan on using capsules eventually. It's just that my right side fog light lens was slightly cracked, so I decided to put Lamin-X on it, and since I'm going to go yellow later anyway, I chose yellow Lamin-X.

I have yellow Lamin-X with stock bulbs and NO capsules on my fog lights right now.

I've used the PIAA yellow ions with the hid's on my 2k2 as well as the PIAA Super Plasma which match the hid's closely as well. They both have a good look to them but ultimately i decided that I liked the look of the yellows better. Also the yellows provide much more contrast in fog/rain/snow and just for the increased visibility i think they are worth it. Bonus-the PIAA Ions are cheaper then Super Plasmas.

Just to clarify that my fogs are not plasma ion bulbs. I had the plasma ion bulbs and they fuking suked. They ran way to hot and we not all that yellow. My fogs are like I said 6000k HIDs with a plasma ion PIAA fog light assembly.

In fog and snow, state motor vehicle guidebooks usually tell drivers to use low beams so that light doesn't reflect back. I'm guessing that white/blue HID foglights might be counterproductive...although I think they look cool.

go to Europe and you'll see a majority of cars with yellow fog lights, and quite a few with yellow headlights too! (it gets foggy in Europe alot more often than it does in most areas of the U.S.)

I have PIAA Ion Yellow..nothing compared to irish's capsules but just plug and play works for me! Not that i would do such a thing but how bout Trans AM style amber fogs to match the sidemarkers n turning bulbs..wonder how that would look...pics anyone? defeats the whole purpose of illuminating the road but for looks of course.

Driving with fogs on when there isn't any fog/rain/snow actually reduces your effective field of vision. The low wide pattern causes you to look more right in front of the car. So I'm getting yellow, but only for inclement weather (and maybe DRL's when I drive the remote 2 lanes. Been run off the road 3 times in the last 6 months by idiots trying to pass w/o enough room.)
Besides, it's generally regarded inconsiderate to other drivers to drive with your fogs on all the time, no matter how cool it looks. *Ducks before stones are thrown*

i have the stock hids with the piaa super plasma fogs and the polarg bulbs on all running lights and i love it and get alot of complements on how "blue" it looks. some don't like the blue, i love it, reminds me of the bmw's and mercedes lights or just a more expensive car in general.

love matching hids and fogs. i have piaa plasma fogs, polarg bulbs, looks like more expensive car with "blue" coloring. they do not match hids exactly but certainly close enough and i must be lucky mine have'nt blown at all.

I've seen pics and they almost exactly the same as the capsules. So i think i'm going to go with the luminics because drilling holes into my fogs housings doens't sound like something i want to attempt.
