Hey guys:
I am working on a friends 2000 gle..The a/c compressor pully bearing is shot..My question is does anyone know a good parts source for the bearing...Advance auto parts website shows a bearing for it but i don't trust them for the right part..Pic of bearing on the compressor below..

Thanks in advance for any help..

Usually non-name brand bearings will last just as long as a bearing from your dealer. They are all pretty standard.

I am trying to save them some $$$ by just replacing the bearing..The whole compressor is quite pricey[from $100 used to $350 new]..I just want to know if anyone has knows a good reliable place to buy the bearing besides advance auto..thank for suggestion though..

no, just the clutch. if you want to get the right bearing for sure, youll proabbly be going to the dealer, and a clutch assy aftermarket might run you about the same.

Yeah..I am starting to think dealer for the bearing too.. I was hoping someone in here knew a different vendor for the part..The advance auto parts in my area has nothing but incompetent morons behind the counter..

IF you can read the bearing p/n, you can get a bearing place to x-reference it. But you need to press out/in the new one. So you have to get the pulley off the compressor. You might be able to get it off with a puller if you have enough room

nonononono. If YOU can read the p/n, YOU can call a bearing place and see if THEY can x-reference it.

But I can check if you like. You can usually run the p/n on the net to see see what's up.
