hey all, I am a proud owner of a new 2001 SE Auto, just wanted to say hello and i'm glad to be a part of the forum.
Here are some of my opinions of the car (FYI - my last car was a 97 Cobra, and this is my 2nd Maxima, my first was a 92 SE 5-speed)....Well my 2K1 now has 1000 miles and every so often I hear a moan/groan noise coming from the rear drivers side suspension.....when i take off it makes the noise for a second and goes away.....anyone else notice something similar??....also i read a post about a sheild covering the fuel filler tube...mine does not have this shield and i do notice some debris inside the fuel filler door/cap area, i went back to the dealer and of the dozen or so 2001's on the lot...NONE of them had shield covering the filler tube either.....the paint also seems to be chip very easily as the car had some minor touch up paint on it when i picked it up (car had about 90 miles on it)....overall though it's great....just wish it was a little (ok a lot) faster....sorry for the long post , but I will be chatting with you all in the future!

I just purchased my second two weeks ago and could not be happier... I traded in my 96 Max SE with 111000 miles on it... still perfect though. This is a GREAT forum with great people. Congrats again!!

thanks for the welcome.....that noise i spoke of earlier seems to be getting worse, its a creaking noise coming from the rear when i first take off after the car has been sitting for a couple of hours.....any ideas????
