yea i highly doubt that thats a stillen bar ... check out this dudes other auctions ... the title says stillen apexi, hks etc ...
but when you click on them the description reads stillen STYLE apexi STYLE, hks STYLE ... you get the picture

it just looks like he forgot to add "style" to the title

I see the guy has a lot of negative feedback though. Check out the complaints... One of them reads:

User: djmoreno1 (5) Date: Apr-25-01 20:33:13 PDT Item: 580027849
Complaint: "it is an exact replica made by DC Sports"..not selling authentic parts!!!!!!!!!

Here is another one:

User: civicgs400@aol.com (2) Date: Nov-13-00 17:44:33 PST Item: 474431898
Complaint: TANABE STYLE EXHAUST hes selling looks nothing like a Tanabe exhaust..dishonest!

Response: Told him it was a Replica, Sent him pics, Bought it anyway and now says I lied

Response: It Clearly States Replica in the Ad, Next Time, Read the Entire Ad.

There is also several more like this. Most of his negative feedback is about slow response to.

Wadester
2001 AE fully loaded
MOMO COBRA ALUMINUM/LEATHER SHIFT ****
3% Tint On The Back 5 Windows

85 300ZX Street Modified

Actually, the disclaimer IS there in the text ("This item is not made by stillen, but is an exact replica in every way."), although the title seems deceptive. It loooks like he bought a Courtesy FSTB and is trying to sell it above retail...nice close-up of the bar end, though!

I make a point of avoiding eBay sellers with any negative feedback, so wouldn't bid on this auction regardless of what he's selling, but that's just my own policy.

We should ask him whats all in the 03 model. Since he knows the part will fit it, he must know what it looks like!

I wonder if it's 260 or 275 hp? Independent rear suspension? 6 spd manual or 5 spd automatic? Different body style? Maybe we should ask.

I think that this forum should have a sticky thread of dishonest sellers on the net whether it's from an auction or a store front on the net and then make it a sticky that way, before we bid we could come to the board and check to see if they are on the list. It could be another way of making the decision to buy. What do you all think.

I wonder if he's an insider from Courtesy? That's how he knows all the info.

There's a bunch of stuff that deals with dishonest/good shop experiences in there. Go take a look and see if the forum fits your request.

Tempted

I am really tempted to send the guy an Email asking how this will specifically improve the performance of a vehicle that does not even exist yet. I agree though... What a punk!

Done! I am curious how Stillen would feel about someone claiming to sell one of thier products that is a knock-off.

Heard Back From Stillen!

Hey everyone... Just heard back from Stillen about this knock-off part. Here is the Email from them. Its pretty cool.

From: Info <Info@stillen.com>
To: "'Wade'" <Wade@Ramponi.Com>
Subject: RE: Product Replica
Date: Tue, 5 Jun 2001 08:59:49 -0700
Organization: Stillen
X-Mailer: Microsoft Internet E-mail/MAPI - 8.0.0.4211
MIME-Version: 1.0

Status:

That is not a Stillen strut brace. Our brace features cadmium plated rings
and a brushed aluminum bar that has been clear anodized. The ad claims at
the bottom that,
"This item is not made by stillen, but is an exact replica in every way."

That bar doesn't look anything close to what we have. They already lied
once in their ad, who is to say they didn't lie about the other things they
have said in the ad. If I were you, I would not buy from a dishonest
person. I even checked this Ebay seller's other ads. All of those parts are
claimed to be "exact replica in every way" of other manufacturers when none
of them look like the real deal. The best one is the Stillen 300ZX front
strut brace. It claims to be an exact replica. Funny thing is, we haven't
made one yet for the 300ZX!!! I can almost guarantee that these are made in
Taiwan with very bad materials and very bad welds. It probably only cost
them $5-10 each to import. Remember, good products aren't cheap and cheap
products aren't good.

Easy way for Stealin to get a shot at Courtesy by sayin the one that looks exactly like theirs is made in Taiwan with very bad etc, etc...

stillen?

haha i think the reason he put stillen in the description is so that when you use the SEARCH function and look for stillen, his bar would come out, but that is not the STILLEN bar for sure, STILLEN is a flat bar and is much thicker and has the logo on it.
