Where to put jack stand ? Is it safe enough...

Hey guys, I've stored my 2k1 max for the winter, meanwhile I want to do some work on the car during the winter. I want to leave the car on jack stand, so I can remove my D2, wheels and brakes and what else. Dont get me wrong I've jacked the car before but I never left the car on 4 jack stands. I always used ramps or hydraulic jack + jack stand. I always used the jack stand as a second safety precaution. Where would be the safest place to put the Jack stand ( any pics would be appreciated ) ? Is it safe to leave the car on those for winter ? Also does the 2 tons jack stand sounds good enough ? Like the old addage says better be safe than sorry.

Cheers

The jack stands should be safe. Just use them where you would normally jack up the car. The jack stands should have a rod (or whatever you call it) that you slide through the stand to prevent the jack from falling down.

I'd jack the car up with the jack lined up next to / near the jack point then I'd put the stand at the jack point and lower the car onto the stand.

As long as noone is prone to majorly bump or shove the car (like rug rats playing in the garage), it should be OK. If it makes you feel a bit better, line up some heavy cinder blocks to take the burden should one of the jacks (for whatever reason) fail.
