Performance upgrades for Christmas

So I'm lookin for something to buy myself for my car. I'm not really lookin to spend more than 500$ so I was lookin at a rear sway bar (I know they make a big difference on the 4th gens handling charachteristics but I'm not sure if they make as big of a difference on a 5.5 gen) I was also thinkin about headers, but I would only be able to get Hot Shots and I dont know if they make them anymore, and what the quality of them is like.
If I cant make up my mind I will probably end up getting a G-tech pro.
Got any suggestions?

I hadent thought of that.. See and I wouldent have searched for it. SO back off with the "search first" posts.

AND

I had a legit question about the Hot Shots. Which I guess are no longer an option. So I guess the only other headers I can get are gonna be 800+. I am sure they are good quality (I heard they make more power over a greater rev range) but I'm not quite ready to lay down that money yet.
BTW How hard is it to switch the G-tech from one car to another?

Mine does too, and it's lean, so I wouldn't be so sure.

Just get some real data on your a/f and verify, don't guess.

But in that post you quoted of mine, I was referring to the original poster.

Since when does that ever happen around here?

People that are capable of making their own decisions don't ever post about it .. only the results.

I emailed Hotshot recently and they're still making em. They even claim to have some "sitting on the shelves". Call/email them for more info.

Well from my reading on the org. I dont see any reason not to get the Warpspeed sub frame connectors. The only thing is that resell to the average idiot may be more difficult, but when I sell this car I was planning on selling it on this site anyway just because I know people will understand the benefits of sub frame connectors.
If I get the sub frame connectors should I get the RSB too?

Hey I know i'm running real rich too...cuz I can blow flames out my exhaust real easily...so i'm pretty sure I need a vafcii to help lean it out...

Manny, I know i dont have any real data about my afr...but aren't I running real rich if I'm blowing fire out my exhaust like that?

That's a clever idea, but the only thing is that to date, I've noticed that even the most nicely done up cars have a hard time being sold for a decent price to a fellow enthusiast. I'm not saying that it can't be done, but more often than not I've seen people end up parting the car or selling it for much less than it was worth with all the mods. Just something to think about.

As for SFCs, they are a nice mod, and if Warpspeed still sells em you should get em. I'd say wait till the SFCs are on before getting a RSB. If it handles the way you like it with the SFCs alone, why spend extra to get an RSB right?

Well I dont know what you meen by a decent price. I know once I put money into modifications its money down the toilet, but I'm hoping that doing some light modifications wont lower the value of the car. As long as I can get bluebook value, or the going rate at the time for my modified car I will be happy.

In the future these are the mods I am planning on doing
-Intake
-headers
-timing advance
-Possibly new springs
-FSTB
-Sub frame connectors
-Maybe rims
-Deffinitly tires (I am probably gonna get Avon tech M550 A/S next week, Pilot sports are too expensive)
-Maybe add a sub in the back for extra bass
-VB mod
-Tranny cooler

Basically I am trying to build my car into a machine that is as close as I can get (within reason) to a Benz or BMW in the handling/comfort/straight line performance areas. I am keeping it as quiet as possible by keeping the stock exhaust, and also because its not very restrictive. As for handling I wont lower this thing more than an inch to an inch and a half max. The subframe connctors and strut bars will just stiffen the chassis and make the suspension work better, from what I've heard giving a better ride and better handling which seems like the best of both worlds to me.

Plus most of these mods if they offend someone can be removed and parted out..
What do you think guys, would I have a problem reselling a car if I did these things to it, would this be considered a lightly modified car? would I most likely have to part it out?

That's quite a list there, and no, I don't think it'll be a "lightly" modified car since you have practically all the bolt-ons available. Just to clarify, mods won't necessarily lower the value below blue-book (although people argue that mods are a sign that the car has been driven hard and beat-up, but whatever), but they will not always add value if the person buying it doesn't care much for mods either. Also, mods definitely don't add any value if you trade it in. If you're going this route with the list of mods that ya have, it sounds like you're gonna be keeping the car for a while at least, so I say just do it and enjoy the car while ya got it. When it comes time to sell, just part whatever you think is worth your while in terms of uninstalling and re-selling and go from there.

Thanks a lot for the post. That was pretty much what I was thinking. I am probably going to have it for a while, I love it. Yeah I know mods wont add value. Like I said its money down the toilet unless I do some parting out at the end and maybe make a few bucks back. Just as long as it doesnt bring the value down. Thats why I was planning on re-selling it here on the Org because people here can look at my list and see that I will have retained nearly a completly stock feel to the car but just made it better in almost every way. I'm even only going to go with a stage 1 VB mod, just so that shifting stays smooth. People off the Org are generally less educated about these things thus it tends to frigthen them, but I think to an Org member a car modified in this way shouldent in any way scream ricer or boy racer.
