5.5gen 16s ??

I'm looking into getting smaller rims for the front when I go to the track. I know the 2002 brakes are larger and you can fit 15s with slight modification to the calipers, but I am not interested in modifying my brakes. I was wondering if 16s would fit on a 5.5 gen with no issues or modifications needed to clear the brakes. If so what offset should I get on the rims. I was looking at the rota slipstreams 16x7" +40 @ 13.5lbs w/ some toyo proxes t1-s or the new t1-r 215/55/16 . If 16s won't fit I was looking into getting the 17x7" kosei k1-ts with some bf goodrich drag radials 205/40R17 or 225/45R17.

Yes they will fit.

I've been wanting to do something similar but I was going to get 16x8 wedsport tc-005 with 2556016 bfg drag radials.

I think the 2155516 is a little small for much power.

I'm running 245/60/16 drags on mine when I go to the track. They fit fine. Please forgive the track sludge though.

16s will clear 02 calipers just fine. I currently run oem se 5-spokes with toyos (under 38lbs total) with good results.

I know your getting these for the track but, anyone know how how bad these would degrade handling driven on the street

thanks for the responses.
Does it matter on the offset. Would +40 be fine?
