Need some info on WarpSpeed

Hey guys I have decided I am going to get stage 1 and 2 subframe connectors for my 02 I35. I called up warpspeed to find out the price and if they had any available. They said they didnt have any in stock right now but they'de be gettin some in about 2 weeks. Now I have heard that warpspeed sucks left and right on this board but I cant seem to find why. If I could get some sort of commitment out of the guy that I would get the subframe connectors within a certain time frame I would have bought them over the phone with the guy. He was nice and all but he said why dont you call me on monday and I'll have more infor for you. I heard this is what he has said to people week after week. I dont want to give this guy my money and get my subframe connectors 6 months later. Can I trust them to get it to me within at least the month if they say 2 weeks?

Also if you know of any good shops for installing subframe connectors around Cape Cod MA let me know because I am gonna end up doing this mod sooner or later anyway.

Thanks,
Josh

If he didn't seem to interested in giving you any info I'd probably take that as a sign to look elsewhere. I bought a y and b pipe from warpspeed and have been completely satisfied with them given the money I spent. When I bought the stuff I was just starting to mod my car; looking back now I would have spent more money to get a little more. Can't really speak as to the connectors. I know that it is not a big shop and you were probably talking to someone who could answer your questions, so take that for whatever it's worth. Good luck!

Matt doesn't make SFCs, he makes LTBs (lower tie bars), but there are others out there looking for shops that will, I'm sure they'll chime in at some point.

PLEASE someone chime in! Dallas at warpspeed did not sound as if he was gonna work to make my buying experience enjoyable, and I'm lookin to buy TODAY. I made up my mind I've got the money. I have heard nothin but marginal things about warpspeed so serioulsy if there are any other providers of SFCs let me know. After doing some more reasearch I found another cool way to stiffin the chassis, foam filling it. Sounds awsome, but supposedly if you get into an accident and bend something that is foam filled than you cant fix it and your screwed.
Seriously we need competition when it comes to SFC. Warpspeed knows they can take advantgage of people if there are no competitors, but if there were similarly priced competitors I am sure warpspeed would clean up their act, they would have to if they wanted to continue selling SFCs.

I went onto their ebay store though and they have a feedback rating of almost 3000 with not a single negative feedback.. Let me tell you as someone whos job it is to run an ebay store of a computer company. It is DAMN hard to keep people happy enough to get 100% of your feedback positive after 3000 transactions.

Here's what I suggest (and what i am doing in the springtime):

- find a local performance shop that builds roll bars/roll cages for Miatas, S2000s, and other roadsters/sportscars. Most of these shops can easily build SFCs custom to your car for a reasonable price. SFCs are NOT rocket science to design, they're basically just 4 meal tubes welded to the car...any decent rollbar/cage welder can build one for you, and you don't have to deal with the Warpspeed runaround that so many of us have had to deal with in past occasions trying to get SFCs or other products.

I am guessing they could also create a welded part and a bold on part like the kit so that I can still have access to the exhaust later on

yes, anything warpspeed can do, any roll-bar/cage shop should be able to do. most specialized exhaust shops should be able to do it too, I would guess.

Warpspeed sucks! They're customer service is horrible. Save yourself the potential headache and go another route!

Stay away from Warpspeed. They sold me a set of subframe connectors, stage 1 and 2. I had the hardest time getting stage 1 to fit, having to cut off one of the welding tabs and rewelding it to the bar to make it fit the car. Stage 2 didn't even come close to fitting. It's been several years and still no help from warpspeed in getting my money back or a replacement. Dallas just gives one excuse after another. On my last call he told me to give him some measurements on how long I need the bars to be on the stage 2. Isn't this the job of Warpspeeds R&D department? You've been warned!
