235\45\R17... can this fit on my stock 17" 2k3 rims?

235\45\R17.... i have 225/50/17 so will it fit?

i want to buy a pair of nokian snow tires from my friend. thanks

45 is the sidewall aspect ratio. It is the sidewall measurement or height and it means that it is 45% of the width (the # 235). When tires are referred to as low profile, they have shorter sidewall height.

It represents the height of the tire as a % of the width. A 235/45/17 will have a width of 235 MM, a height (rim to tread) of 105.75 MM and of course fit on a 17 inch rim.

I will fit...but a good rule with snow tires is to go NARROWER than stock, not WIDER

I suggest you get 215/55/17 or just stock size.

Also, check Nokian's official specs....SOME 235/45/17 will fit on a 17x7 rim, and SOME will not...not all tires have the same block width and seam width.

Good point... narrow snows are more effective than wide snows.

And are you posting on the .Org from Snowshoe?
