Does yours do this? Cold rough idle.
Does yours do this? Cold rough idle.
When I start up in the morning only when its 40 degrees and under and for the first 5-10min of driving my max runs rough and it falls on its face. I find myself varying throttle to get up to speed. Once fully warmed it is fine and runs great. Is this an inability of the Mass Air to calibrate with an intake and the cold, cold air. I cleaned Mass air sensor less than 3 thousand miles ago with alchol, q-tip and canned air and yes it did this before I cleaned it. I'm running NGK Iridiums. The only problem I know of is I suffer from the broken VIAS. The main point is I wanted to see if others had this cold weather initial warmup roughness.
Replace the MAF and see if that cures the problem. Our MAFs are not cleanable -- well, tehy are, but cleaning them does not fix the problem that causes them to quit working right in the first place.
I figured it couldn't hurt to clean it since it was coated in a film of grime. I think more likely I'm suffering from irratic voltage and think that may be causing the low rpm missing. I've notice my lights dimming at idle dash and head. I have a grounding kit that I've been meaning to install and that will give me the oppurtunity to go over battery/chargin system. I'll keep posted results and thats for the Mass air cleaning pointer.
