Safe to drive with disconnected MAF for few days?
Safe to drive with disconnected MAF for few days?
I blew my MAF yesterday(Stalling, wont rev past 3500rpm) Can i drive the car with my MAF disconnected for a few days until the new one comes in? Is this safe?
i assume by disconnected you mean by the connector. it is ok to remove the connector to the maf but dont remove the maf. if you leave the hole open then you are asking for debris to possibly go in after the filter.
it isnt safe to drive. if for some reason you have to speed up quickly your car will die. when mine went bad i couldnt even drive in rush hour traffic. i couldnt speed up very fast and it kept dying. very embarasing when everyone was honking at me

I disconnected my MAF at the connector and it idles fine, but when I turn on the heat, the car stalls out and dies. Does this mean that the MAF might not be the problem, but that it might be something else as well?
