GXE sterero dash removal
#1
I got received the CD add-on for the GXE from Courtesy (couldn't resist the $70 price) and have searched thru the threads on removing the dash trim. However it seems all threads were for the SE but my 2k1 GXE seems to have a 2 piece dash. Anybody have advise on removing it (or is is really the same procedure as for the SE -- I just don't want to start without talking to you all first)?

I do believe that the only difference is
that the SE has a double din sized stereo while
the GXE is single din with a compartment underneath.
Disassembly should be the same in both cases...
Punkdork can verify, though.

correct
As far as I know you just need to remove the little storage box under the tape player.

OK, so here's what I found. I'm going to go for it tonite unless someone has another method.....
-POP THE AC VENTS UP TOP
-2 SCREWS BEHIND THE VENTS HOLDING TOP PART OF DASH
-TAKE ASHTRAY OUT, SMALL SCREW BEHIND THE DUMMY TRAY IN ASHTRAY
-POP THE TRIM AROUND THE SHIFTER
-2 SCREWS UNDERSIDE HOLDING THE BOTTOM OF DASH.
-Take THE TOP 2 BOTTOM 2 OUT PULL THE CENTER CONSOLE RIGHT OUT
-POP THE AC VENTS UP TOP
-2 SCREWS BEHIND THE VENTS HOLDING TOP PART OF DASH
-TAKE ASHTRAY OUT, SMALL SCREW BEHIND THE DUMMY TRAY IN ASHTRAY
-POP THE TRIM AROUND THE SHIFTER
-2 SCREWS UNDERSIDE HOLDING THE BOTTOM OF DASH.
-Take THE TOP 2 BOTTOM 2 OUT PULL THE CENTER CONSOLE RIGHT OUT
