Too much torque ?
Well here's the info on the car
3 mechanics said i have too much torque ^__~
2001 Maxima
3.5 bottom end with 3.0 head
Frankencar intake
hotshot headers
race pipe
Greddy EVO 2
Blehmco kit in da front
plus other junk..
the wheels are Axis Hiro 19 x 8.5 Dunlop Direzza 245 35 19 up front 275 30 19 in the rear.
The cracked wheel is the Front Passenger.
no potholes or anything... no other damage to the rim. Just came out to wash the car and bam see cracks across the spokes. Called up Axis the next day. Great people they will warranty it for me.

haha i just thought it was funny what they said.
I asked the same question "lugnut torque ?" they said the engine torque i'm like whatever dude.
Seems to be a factory defect, cuz i've seen bunch of 350Z drift with these no way our max can break it ^__~

Yeah that definatly has to be lug nut torque. If it was too much engine Tq, Axis would have allot of unhappy Turbo'd Z customers.
At least they are going to warranty it, but if they did it makes me wonder if they know it's a problem?? looks like I'll stick with the OEM's 'till the money for some Volks comes along

The only rim I've seen crack was a steely a friend of mine had on his POS '76 station wagon that was a sleeper set up for drag. He was pushing 1,000 whp in that rust bucket! no way in hell I'd ever ride in it! Anyway, he spun the centers out of the steelies one time. Another time he snapped all the wheel studs on both tires (the guy in the mustang he was racing about **** himself when he saw it!). He had an old Olds. Rocket engine in it with a 9" rear-end. Now he toys around with an old supra running 28 lbs of boost.
Long story short: no way in hell would a N/A VQ break that rim, but you can always ask Mardigras if he's ever done it!

There a whole thread about these hiro's cracking on a 350z board. That wheel seems to have cracked alot with the 350z's too. I have axis Hagens no problems here. I bent two but was able to get fixed. Of coarse Axis will warranty them cause they know it was there fault they crack.
