What is 0-60 of an auto?

I know the manual does 0-60 in 6.7 - BTW is this the same for the GXE and SE? IE, did nissan do no engine tuning between the two? I know the anniversary edition has 5 extra HP though (not that you'd notice hehe).

What about the people with an automatic though? I feel bad for you guys cause I'm guessing you're around 8 or so!

times....

All the tests i have seen that got 6.7 were in an SE. Would a 5 spd gxe be faster because it has lighter rims possibly??? Anyways all the times i have seen for a Maxima Auto have been from 7.6 - 8.00 . The 8 was in an I30t so it weighs a little more, and the 7 somthing time was from some mag. Sounds right to me. 6.7 would be fun though!

8 secs seems a bit too high. I would say mid 7's. Now, if you were shifting your auto manually, you might shave off a few tenths. The auto shifts way before redline.

I think MotorTrend did a test on the automatic Maxima GXE and it said it ran 8.3- 8.5 0-60

Yes...2k GXE is faster than 2k SE (5spd vs 5spd)...

Motor Trend says the 2k SE 5-speed runs 15.1....

My 2k GXE 5-speed runs consistent 14.9...100% stock.
(and that is with a 6'6" 300lb driver)

Mechanically, both cars are the same...
but the GXE is 100lbs lighter...

I have an auto and I've ran 0-60 with my friend's G-tech a few months back. the avg was 8 sec with a best run 7.9....and that was with him in the car (he's a 200 lbs+ guy) too. I don't know how accurate G-tech is but it gives a ball park figure. Auto tranny definately is not quick....

GXE!!

Great! So if a GXE is a full 100lbs lighter than the SE (although I think those pounds are worth having with the spoiler and especially the wheels Could we say its 0-60 is probabaly 6.6 vs. 6.7 of the SE?

Its a shame how bad autos are. CVT in some vehicles that are coming out makes the auto a fraction of a second _quicker_ than a standard, still sucks driving an auto though...

I'm currently actually driving an '00 impreza outback sport auto (not my car). It's 0-60 is about 11 seconds, with the manual its no more than 9 (I only have the 2.2 litre version). Auto sucks!!
