Nismo Pads 6 Month Review
Nismo Pads 6 Month Review
Everyone remember the Nismo pads for the Altima that fit on the Max? I am giving a 5 month review as I just switched them out.
I would like to start by saying that these Nismo pads are one of the best when it comes to stopping the Max. The only other pad that even came close had to have been my Performance Friction Z-Rated pads and those required 1 to 2 good stomps for them to warm up. The Performance Frictions also tended to cool down on the highway which was not good. Not so with the Nismos. Now on to the Nismos.
I installed them in July and they worked great, a little hard on the rotors as when I applied the brakes say in a parking lot going about 1 to 3 mph, they sounded like grinding brakes. They were fine at any other speed exhibiting no grind, only a smooth and grabby feel. They did however start to squeak and that is the reason that I replaced them.
As far as the pads, they have plenty of life on them and look as if they didn't lose any material. The material also looked good with no signs of glazing. The rotors, however, needed to be turned as they had little grooves in them like a LP record.
So I have a set of these pads that I have sanded in a circular pattern and am willing to sell for say to anyone who wants to try the nismo pads. How does $$30 + shipping sound? I will offer a full guarantee, except for shipping. You can return them or any reason whatsoever for a full immediate refund.

I went back to the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads, not the Z-Rated. I only did this because I had a used set of the PF carbon metallic in the garage that I was able to swap out at Autozone.
If I had a choice I would go back to the Performance Friction Z-Rated.
BTW, running Hawks in the rear.
