stock HId to 6000k
i wanted to change my stock lightbulbs to 6000k. is there a significant amount of difference between the stock 4300k and the 6000k? is it worth the change? is there a noticeable difference between the two? if not i was thinking about going with 7000k. and i know about the light output, the more temp the less light, but it doesnt really matter to me. thanks.

I would not go above 6k, but the output will be less, but I love the look of 6k...
It depends on what you want, maximum output or looks. I would do the 6k because they look really nice and I think have good output still.

I have seen the difference. Just because I dont have them on my maxima does not mean I have not seen the differnece. My old Saab had 4300K hid's that I put 6ks in.
Edit: to keep it clean... sorry

anymore 6k pics? i've never thought about changing mine, but now i want to get hid fogs, and i want them to match and have a little color to both the lows and fogs. what is the shade of color on these? i'd really like to see more pics if anyone has more.

6k bulbs are bluer but puts less light on the road than a 4100 - 4300k bulb.

If your going from stock 4300k to 6000k you will definately see a change in color, although it seems minor to some. I had 6000k in my old car and have 4300k in my car now and i can tell the difference buts its not night and day difference. My friend put 8000k in his 2k3, and eventhough the output sucked i definately saw a bigger difference.
I say go for it, but if you want a dramatic change between stock and dont care about output then you will probably wanna go higher in K. I believe anything above 6k is kinda worthless though, just my 02.

ok thanks for the replys, im gonna get the 6k, i dont want too much blue, but if there is a difference between the 4.3k and 6k, then im going for the 6k. the 7k sounds tempting though... like i siad, light out put doesnt matter since most raods are lit around here.
argggg dont want to buy 2 sets to find out...

My HIDs are 4300 and my fogs are 6000k.
I do notice a difference in color.... i do like the 6000K color better. Although when i do need to see better i turn on my 4300(i usually just run my angel eyes and fogs). I would def go for the 6000K HID upgrade... i am waiting on mine to blow!!
Hope that helps

ok, i got the 6k.. and im not really impressed with the color. so if your looking into changing your HID color, i suggest getting 7k, since 6k and 4.3k, are almost the same. no i dont have pics, even if i post pics, you cant tell the difference anyways. the 6k is just whiter, no blue at all. i just wanted a little blue, but if you look at the headlights from far away, they just look white. the light out put is the same also, but i felt like the 6k was brighter since it was more whiter than the stock ones. since i already spent 100 bones on it, im gonna keep em. but just to let people know, 6k and 4.3k are prety much the same, just a little whiter.

can anyone compare 6k or 7k to cars already out there. for example, ever notice how you can see new 04+ maxima from a mile away? or how bmw's and mercedes are a much brighter and colorful beam with almost purple/blue characteristics. i guess some may not like that but i love it. i thinkour 2k2 are very bland looking in comparison. i know some are projector which gives it that blinding look every time that person hits a bump but as far as color and intensity; can that be determined by just diff. bulbs? if so what would the bmw's or mercedes be, as i like them best. thanks for any help......

What you are seeing is all the different colors coming thru the projector. Thats why we chose to go more blue, so it may seem as if there is a projector. I think 6000k is plenty of color. It may not be as cool looking as a projector coming down the road, but it gets the job done.
EDIT: Dang... Ammi beat me to it
