Of the engine compartment of an unmodded 2001 Max?

I've noticed that there is something bolted onto the stock air scoop on the left for the 2000s...and I don't have one bolted on mine (I do see the clip for it though). Was just wondering if it's normal for 2001s or that someone at Nissan fell asleep putting together my car...
