tranny clunk

i did a search first..couldnt find my exact problem. My 2k2 tranny clunks when you go from reverse to drive, but wont do it from neutral or park to drive. also lately, ive noticed sometimes hard shifting 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd. car has 41,000 miles and I had the tranny fluid replaced about 3000 miles ago.

have no idea. I got it done at lubexpress. I have all the paperwork forthe maintence tho so nissan cant jip me. sure its a "faulty" tranny? I usually do the oil changes and all myself, but since i got an extended warranty, they require i have proof of maintence. cant do it urself. :-( hate that.

Maybe off topic here..but when I worked at the local lube shop (5 or 6 years ago) we stopped flushing Honda trannys altogether. The honda fluid was around $5-6 a quart are our Dexron-Mercon synthetic tranny flush was a total of $80.00 to flush including running a full 12 quarts through it-cheaper than the fluid from Honda/Acura alone...Well it turned out that this "compatible" fluid was tearing up trannys left and right and we got stuck paying all these repair bills. The only fluid that worked in those cars was the tranny fluid directly from Honda/Acura...Not sure this is the case, others on here would more than likely have had the same probelm after a flush from a lube shop....Just a little thought......
These trannys have a modulator valve? Are you experiencing any engine idle problems?

No engine idle problems. But WHAT IF it is the fluid from the shop. Will they pay for the damage as long as I have paperwork? That is If I get it diagnosed by Nissan.

mounts could be the reason for the clunk from reverse to drive. but would bad mounts cause hard shifting?
BTW Recommended is
Fluid type Nissan Matic "D"
Note: Dextron III/Mercon ATF or equivalent may also be used.
So if they used the ATF and not the ATF synthetic or what not you should be ok.

i got a 2K2 Auto, The Transmission Slips now almost every time, 1 st to 2 nd now 2nd to 3rd, it over revs, then jerks into gear, what can this be? I know the Tranny is going also when you are cruising and hit the gas the car bangs in to gear and jerks.

99SE-L sounds like you need to warm up your car more and slow down on the WOT'n, or you will need a tranny

Y2KmaxSE, pop open hood, leave open, start car, hold brake and put into gear, it should be pretty apparent if a motor is bad. If you still can't tell, give blip of throttle in gear with brake depressed all the way, you may feel a thud, the way to determine is watch which side ....front or rear is moving up and down more...sometimes it may be both and you will need another set of eyes on both side mount and tranny mount.
If you don't think you can, seek professional assistance.

Funny thing is during WOT the transmission shifts smooth and good, but just regular driving the rpms shift high when iam hardly hitting the gas, Also i got remote start so the car is fully warmed up.
