ECU reset and advanced timing

I have my initial timing advanced to 17 degrees, if I do the ECU reset procedure will that clear my advanced timing? I believe I read a while back that it will not, I just want to be sure. I have already tried searching for the answer.

no it will NOT reset your timing back to stock....once it is 17 degrees...it will stay 17 degrees whether the ecu is resetted or not...

Thanks for the help.

I did the reset because I have been buring more gas lately. It is probably due to the winter gas formulation, the cold, and my new route to work. The car did feels slighty slower after the reset. I guess that proves the the ECU was not retarding anything.
