Engine/radiator top shroud...someone make one
I was going to have one of these made, but never got around to it. I see tons of subarus with these...I bet if someone made them for the Maxima, they'd sell well....
examples:
paradox systems? looks like something they could/would make.

by the way, I realize that this is not really a "functional" piece, but is more for looks....I've just always hated the front of the engine bay...so ugly (unless there is SC piping there, of course)

yeah, even on the NASIOC forums the guys are like "they don't do anything, just for bling factor"...but even the hardcore rally guys buy them, because they look really nice.
They're about as functional as the AE engine cover, or Nismo radiator caps, or whatever...just dress-up. But my engine could use some minor dress-up.

Andy made these before for 4th gens and they did NOT sell well (I won't even go into the details on this). Its easier on the 4th gens since its a flat piece, whereas ours will require a slight slant upwards and then level off.
I'm sure it has some slight benefits since it will concentrate more air into your radiator and condenser instead of flowing out through the top and around it. Its on my to-do list for next year, i'll try to send you a piece to test out if you haven't got one done in the meantime

it would need a double-bend, since our radiator sits up higher than the frame piece in front of it.

Irish: wait till Corey get's his shop going and we can make them pretty easily for both mine and your cars. It'll be interesting to see if the 5th gen and 5.5 gens are the same. Once we make a template and figure it out, should be an easy fab job from there. Besides, Corey will be able to powder coat it in house as well. No point in putting crap there when you're really trying to bling the bay a little.
Oh, and I'm sure Chris (Chernmax) will want to be in on it as well with his 6th gen.

maybe I will make them in Cf, I will have my equipment in 5 to 7 business days. I run a custom cf business, My partners and I just got started. Business is just beginning to go. To give you some background I have worked with cf for over 3 years professionally. I have no picts right now but as I go I will put them on for all to see. I am sure I can make them. Time to make should take just a few weeks to a month or so.

question: are you going to design these to go all the way down and meet the top of the grille? IMO they should start at the top of the grille, and go up to the lip just forward of the radiator top, or even slant up further over the radiator (meaning there would have to be a hole for the rad. cap, as well as the hood latch mechanism.)

also, where is Pine Hill? im in NJ and id be interested in seeing what you guys can do, there are a few things i may want done in CF, and some CF stuff i need repaired possibly, and so far there is no one i know of in the area who can help with this (althought i havent looked much).

Have you ever heard of clementon NJ ( clementon Park perhaps) KCMC582? Its south jersey if it helps. I live in pine hill which is about 5 min from Voorhees. If you do want other things done in cf or repaired PM me and we'll talk.
As far as the design of the part; It will be very thin about 1-2mm thick but very strong. I will put up a sketch in the next couple of days so you all can give me some input on what you guys would like. Irish I love your suggestion about covering the radiator. though It may cost more than my estimates of 40-70.... I definitely like to know what you guys want. then my partners and I will make it happen. Like I said in the other thread this will take me some time so your patience will be appreciated but the end result will be what you guys want. keep the input coming guys

You are correct soonerfan it is right on top, very little clearance.

Great Suggestion Irish44j!!!!! My thinking was to attach the part to the topside of the grill at the four connection points and run the part over the top of the frame and bolt underneath the radiator supports on the frame. But it would look better if the part covered the radaitor to some degree. I haven't figured out that part of it yet. Only because the part would have to have cut outs for those supports as well as the radiator cap. Hmmmmmmmm. Like I said though in my very last post I will sketch the part and post it. Definitely a hole for the hood latch!!!!

This is something I would eventually like to get on my car, but from the looks of it, it may not be possible due to the design of the I30 front end and lack of grille attached to the bumper.....
It's not the best pic, but you get the idea of how it differs....

Heres a very rough sketch on how the shroud will look for the 00-03 maximas it might be able to fit the I30/cefiro 95maxrider with a little modification.
If all goes well with production there might be one coming for the I30. No promises on that yet though. Tonight I began laying out the buck mold.
