New Years Present-MIL light - p0140 - Warranty?

So the light comes on, I get it tested. It's p0140. H02 Sensor Bank 1 sensor 2. So my rear 02 is either not picking up lean/rich condition or it's way off because of the cat..
So my question is according to federal law 02's must be covered for 2/24,000 and cats must be covered for 8/80,000.....Is Nissan's standard Minimum legal or do they go above and beyond? I am just past 5 years and have 59,100 miles.

Ok I guess I should ask if it does end up being the cat which is covered under 8yr/80,000 mile federal mandated warranty has anyone ever had a problem with getting a run around???
Something along the lines of - "well I need all your receipts showing you've used premium fuel since purchase", or "How do you know it's only got premium fuel if you just bought it a month ago", etc..I'm guessing probably just need an H02S, but I'm preparing for the worse.

Well heres what ive heard- some codes thrown dont mean that the sensor is actually bad, other people on here know more about it but i guess sometimes the back o2 sensor throws a false code, not sure if thats what it is or not.

What happened to me was i took the car in at 59,900 miles for a surge to see if it was covered under the 60k powertrain warranty- ended up being the MAF which isnt covered but i had recently gotten the car and the dealer who i bought it from covered the cost of the MAF and air filter they put in. The nissan tech also flashed the ECU and told me that WAS under the emissions warranty. Soon as i picked up the car and drove off the dealer lot, the MIL came on. brought it right back, he told me it was an o2 sensor that went bad from the ECU reprogram and told me that was under the emissions warranty too, and changed the o2 behind the second precat i think. i have the paperwork if you wanna see it.

Take it to the dealer to be diagnose and see what happens.. they are going to RAPE you but here are your options.
1. Simulator
2. Look at the SES as your friend and learn to live with it..... I did.....

I'm not sure if bank one goes to the rear or front cat but the secondary 02 cost about $60.00...Well worth the cost of turning the light off....I do get a bad cat smell at WOT so i'm not condemning the 02 until I get it put on a scope and see exactly what's going on. (dead or just not giving a rich/lean condition.) I'm not one for bandaids so I'm going to do it right, I was just wondering if anyone had experiences with the dealership giving 2nd or 3rd owners the run around of not warranting a bad cat for lack of proof of high octane fuels.

I dont think they can give you a problem about high octane fuels since the owners manual states nothing about high octane fuels being mandatory. It RECOMMENDS premium but in now way does that mean it is mandatory.

i had p0140 about a year ago. the dealer replaced both secondary o2 sensors and flashed the ecu for an updated per the tsb. my repair was covered under extended warranty that luckily with zero deductible. i think the dealers charge against the warranty was just under 500 for the whole job.

Bulletin covered repair w/ reprogramming.
only for 00-02 Maximas.
8yr/80K, as mentioned two rear ho2s.
However if you had a P0420 code in past and already had reprogramming, you will be paying for ho2s.

So I can't have the TSB done if i have more than 80k miles?

I have the code P0140 pop up and after I reset the ecu, it came back again. I was hoping I can get the TSB done so I don't get charged +250$ for the o2 sensors...
