DO NOT DISCONNECT THE AIRBAG! There is also a warning sticker you'll see behind the glovebox.

They are not contradicting, one write-up is just less clear about it.

You do not disconnect the airbag connectors; you are only supposed to unclip what is holding the airbag connectors to the glovebox.

The hardest part I found was getting everything lined back up when screwing everything back in. Other than that, piece of cake.

Yeah I was using the Haynes Book to do the blower motor (same spot as cabin filter) and it said to always disconnect the airbag before working around it. Well I disconnected it, and I still have not been able to get my AIR BAG light to turn off using every procedure I could find on this forum.
So my advise is don't disconnect it...

Hey I'm just curious, I opened my glove box and saw no cabin filter sticker. Does that mean I don't have one?

I have a 2000 btw.

You probably don't since it was optional in 2000. I believe you can still put one in if you want to since there is space for it.

If the sticker is not there means that the filter was likely not put in when the car was sold or someone forgot to slap one on. On mine there was no sticker and the filter was not installed either but the filter housing is there and you can always put one in if you want to

Rather than post up a new one.....I know some people have put modified and put in some home-style pleated airfilters. How has it turned out? Was there a decrease in air output?

I figure it's about time to change mine, cause I doubt it was ever done by the previous owner.

take off the door trim near the glovebox. It makes life a lot easier when you try to put it back.

If you have a filter in right now, it is supposed be washable. Otherwise, I have read of people buying 3M filters from HomeDepot and cutting them to fit as a cheaper replacement for OEM...
