I was just curious what others are getting RPM wise when their car is at idle(park), drive, and reverse for a general idea on what is normal for the 2k to 2k3 Maximas. When warmed up and in park, my RPM is at about 750-800, drive it drops down to about 650, and same in reverse..these are all estimated so they are not exact.

 

i think my idle is at 1000 and my drive and reverse is at like 700-800

 

Mine is around 750 most of the time. Park, Drive, and Neutral.
That can't be good for the tranny.

 

what do you mean? how can that hurt it, what do you think I should do?

 

Yeah thats really kinda high, you should adjust the idle screw on the throttle body.Then shut the car down and restart it.

 

I had to do the same thing to my car.
