Any advice for header install?

I'm instaling the Hotshot headers on my 02 Sunday and could use any advice on trouble areas or things you would have done or not done.

I just realized they didn't come with any instructions. I've got a basic idea of what to do and am pretty good with tools. I'll just do like I usually do. Just keep removing what ever is in the way.

I'm also putting the stage 3 clutch and Fidanza flywheel back in after having to take them out and have the Clutchmaster pressure plate balanced. I figure the header install will be easier with the tranny and everything else out.

Any advice or a link to a "how to" would be great. I've got a long day of being under the car on jackstands ahead of me.

I'm also interested in knowing if you extended the rear O2s or just used an O2 sim.

Thanks, I've already removed the manifolds y-pipe etc...
No real problems with that. That rear heat shield is pretty sharp though. That's going to sting later.

I'm going th do the pp/flywheel now then install the headers once I'me done with that. The manifolds weren't as hard to remove as I thought.

I'm using an o2 sim but it hasn't come in yet. It should be OK to run with out it till it arrives right?

Gear wrenches? I'm not sure what that is. Everything seems to be going well so far.

What is a gear wrench?

It's like the closed side of a box end wrench except it has a geared insert so you can use it like a ratchet

From: Auburn WA,
It's probly easier with the tranny in. When I did my headers I took out the front and rear moter mounts so I could tilt the engine back to get to the rear manifold bolts. If The tranny is out you can't do that.

Maxima headers took me 2.5 hrs
If any body cares I don't reccomend doing 350Z or G35 headers. I did a G35 last night in my shop with a lift and air tools and it took 8 hrs.

Well, I finished up last night. Wasn't too bad. I've been running with out the secondary o2 sensors or the simulator and haven't thrown a code.

Do I still need the simulator?

if the code doesn't pop up, you can save yourself $30 and not get it...it won't hurt the car if u ask me....the primary o2 is what determines the AFR for the vehicle
