URGENT!!! Please Help! Ignition/Safety Cutoff Problem..

Hey guys, I am in dire need of help here. Here is the situation.. I went to do an oil change today, and jacked up the car with the stock jack and whatnot. Long story short, the jack did not hold and the car dropped down and now won't start. NOTHING was damaged (luckily), but it cranks and cranks but does not start. I heard from a friend, who happens to be a mechanic, that the problem might be a safety ignition shutoff system, that might have sensed a shock and is preventing the car from starting. Any help would be IMMENSLY appreciated. I need to get to work in the morning Thank you all as usual!

maybe unplugging battery for few hours will help reset the ecu.

I'm not sure that I've ever heard of an inertia switch on Nissans?
If it is a fuel delivery issue and you really need to drive your car you could simply jumper your fuel pump relay so you have constant power to your pump.. Just make sure you take the jumper out when you shut the car off so you don't burn up your pump.
Look in the manual to see where it is.

You know on second though, when i curbed my car, i hit it pretty damn hard, it thumped pretty good.

The motor was still on afterwards cuz i had my foot on the clutch.

I could still turn it on afterwards so i have no clue whats going on.

I thought I might add something else to this. The security light stays solid on while the car is on ACC/ON/Cranking. Could this possibly have anything to do with it, or is the security light solid on normally? So far I've tried holding down the accelerator during cranking, partial throttle, checked fuses, and nothing has worked. Everything, including the radio, seats, door locks, AC/heater, works. It cranks over and over but simply won't start. 5thgenmaxima, how would I go about "jumpering" the fuel pump? I will try disconnecting the battery when I get home tonight. Thanks for all the help guys..

Well I just checked my car and no the security light does not stay solid while cranking. In fact it doesn't even blink......It if where me my first step would be a quick call to the service manager at my local dealer to see if there is a quick way to reset this.....
To jumper you simply find the relay, the location will be on a panel or in your owners manual...Then you look at the relay and see which 2 pins actually compeletes the circuit when the ecm allows it to do so and put a paper clip between those two...There will probably be 5 pins on the relay...TYPICALLY # 1 and 2 are for the fuel pump circuit itself and TYPICALLY there is a drawing on the relay which shows which two they are.
.Basically the ecm tells the relay to kick on the fuel pump.
It then completes a circuit thru the ecm and allows electromagnetic induction to stitch a coil in the relay over to allow power to flow thru your fuel pump circuit...Hard to explain.. Look it up on howstuffworks, I'm sure you can find more info if you want to learn about it........
Right now though your main concern is driving your car.. Like I said before I quick call to the dealership to find out how to reset this might be the best solution....
For all I know the security feature might disable both spark and fuel...Your not using a "valet" key are you?

I might be wrong, but this sounds like an issue with the engine immobilizer. The key should be able to de-activate it the moment you insert the key making the security light go-off (from blink to off). Staying solid usually happens while programming the key.

seriously, just disconnect the battery for an hour. its not like it will hurt anything if it doesnt work and if it does then its probably the easiest fix youve ever had eh?
