So what if it's salvaged? When trying to sell a salvaged car, people tend to steer clear away from these cars. And chances are that the car will never drive exactly the same as it did before.

I'm suprised the car was rebuilt for 12k.. For that you could get another 5th gen, and not have to worry about any salvaged titles.

It's good to hear you're okay.

Sometime we need to learn a lesson to appreciate how precious life is. I'm happy that you are still alive and now on your life will never be the same.

Good luck.

I agree mine was wrecked and was fixed, and it's just running like new now. See my cardomain of before and after.
It just depends how hard the impact was, if it was minimal people would buy it, and if it's hard then they'll buy it still. Just depends who's looking for what.

You must have never sold a car before. As Nismo said, people steer WAY clear of a salvaged title, especially if it's from an accident. You never know what kind of job the shop did, if they used non-stolen parts, whether or not they cut corners, is the car aligned properly, etc. And with $12k, I'd rather buy another 5G & swap all the parts onto that one, seeing as how that'd be cheaper. Only in some rare cases should you consider a salvaged title, such as theft, and even then it's iffy, since the car was probably raped.

Ok my facts...

Man I see some of you guys just don't know much about repairing and selling.
My cousin does that from time to time. He bought a couple wrecked Toyota Celica's, fixed them up and sold 2 already for a great price. Bought the one he realy liked now fixed that one up and sticks to it. I guess if you buy wrecked car, if would be realy good if you would know a shop or person whom you can trust of repairing your vihicle.
Here guys check this out, this is my cousin's TRD Celica. That's the 3rd one he bought and stayed with it.

man i knew i was going to get these responses when i posted the first time. and yes i fixed cars that were in accidents and sold them. the value that you sell the car does go down and most people are scared and dont want to look at the car if it has a salvadge title. it all depends on the person.

my car now looks almost the same just i got my winter steelies on and most of the tint is gone..they were going to total it but it was worth more than 12 so they fixed it up..it only has 31k on it so thats the main reason..the rims are in my shed and will be back on when winter ends.

the suspension in the pics is my illuminas/progress..my sig pic is old but in the summer it will look just like the sig pic only with a bodykit

the car is in great shape right now and im not planning on selling it so it doesnt matter if its salvaged or not..but i understand wat u guys are saying

thanks for understanding

Hm...... I have been to salvage auctions, and have seen 2k2's and 2k3's there, and they weren't nearly as damanged as your car. I think here in Iowa if the damage is more than 20% of the value of the car, it's considered totaled.

Kloogy's was much worse I think. I think Kloogy's whole rear end, from passanger to driver, was smashed and pushed foward. Correct me if I am wrong though since that happened a while ago.

my maxima was hit by a ford ranger going maybe 5-10 mph.

my 3000gt was hit by an 04 GMC yukon going 45 mph. both doors have ZERO door gap. my seat is half broken (wont recline and 1 slider rail is busted). the car didnt have a rear bumper. just the cover.

i drove it the 2 miles to my workplace after the accident.

I learned my lesson in my 2nd gen in 2003. It was at night and in a moment of inattention..CRASH.... rearended a ford pickup. luckily I was going about 20-25 mph and was able to brake enough to minimize damage. Damage was moderate. I had a badly damaged hood, broken headlights, both corners, right fender damaged, damaged radiator, and the frame that holds the headlights and the locking mechanism for the hood was bent way back and hit my motor. Had to pay the guy $750 so it wouldn't be reported to the insurance co, even though the only damage he suffered was a broken rear window. I don't feel so bad now since I found out that he lost his house and his business went down a few months after it happened . I took no pictures because I wanted no more reminders of the sheer pain I felt seeing my baby max all banged up (I actually got teary eyed when I saw the devastation). I still get a bit sad when I remember the way she looked . Needless to say I am now a good driver for the max's sake and mine
