Why is that thread "invalid"???? I used it to hook my dual o2 sim and it works perfect.

Just follow it exactly and you will have no problems.

I thought the gen2s were always built in the USA? Specifically SFR (Speed Force Racing) in San Diego...correct me if I am wrong

You're right, but I think he was comparing Gen Is and IIs.

Gen I: Made in New Zealand

Gen II: Made in San Diego by SFR, like you said.

Either way, I'm just glad that we have at least 2 different options for headers. Let the people spending the money decide what suits their needs better.

I've ran HS headers for YEARS on my Sentra without a problem, HS is a great company with just as good of a customer service as Brians shop.

Same here. I put my Hot Shot Headers on back in Feb. 2004....35K miles later and not a single problem.

New info

Hey all! Newb here and first post but I spoke to Cattman on 1/19/06 and Brian said the reason they are kinda expensive and in limited availability right now is that they can only produce about 1 set per week!!!!! There are currently 3 people on a waiting list for these headers. I planned on being the forth by ordering an entire headers back system until I was told the headers and a few other pieces were not currently available to ship. Now I'm stuck.

Yeh I talked to Brian and he said the 1 set a week thing too but he said the price should go down after a few months hopefully because right now there switching manufacturer companies since the last manufactuerer wasnt being able to produce the headers fast enough. He said after about 3 or 4 months when production is going smoother the prices should drop back to normal.

On a side note:

A set of chrome plated boat headers cost $750.00.

This is true, actually my boat is probably smaller and lighter.

Boat headers are nothing special, but there is only 2 companies that make them, so they can charge alot. $750 for some chrome headers and they turn colors and rust in about a year. They you end up spending another $300 for jet hot coating.

I think the Cattman headers are already jet hot coated? So that is not a bad price.

If I remember correctly, the gen 2's aren't jet hot coated. I believe the Hotshots are.

I keep hearing and seeing ugly rusted ceramic headers, or hear about them rotting. I hear that those are the cheap ones and that good ones like Hotshot puts a coating on them to protect them. I unfortunately believe in the old saying that you get what you pay for. I've spoken to Brian Catts back and forth through emails like many others, and he has me convinced. He also makes parts primarily for Maximas, which tells me he at least has good taste. I am going with the Cattman Headers.

I would agree that Cattman makes great products, but I would also just point out that many people who live where there are snow (and hence, salt) on the roads have yet to complain about rusting issues with their Hotshot headers. I know of .Org members who live Canada, NY, IL with Hotshots and they've all said that the headers are holding up well despite being driven in the winter.

Just to let you know...

My Cattman B-Pipe looks like crap, covered in a nice rust color. Yet, my HotShot Headers still look brand new. They are still a nice shiny silver without a hint of rust yet.

Next time I am around my car I will try and get some pics.

Your B-Pipe sees alot more of the road, than the headers do.

5.5 gen headers will fit cali spec 00 and all 2k1. they probably would work with fed spec 00 but you would have to work around the egr. i have had my hotshots on for quite sometime, around a year and a half or right around there with no issues except the flange going to the cat was thinner than my cattman y pipe and created a small exhaust leak.

Not the secondary pipe (Y-Pipe), it will see quite a bit of salt and road.
