This kinda suprised me, but I was on I-264 going home and there wasn't but maybe one or two other cars on the whole 4 lanes of interstate. So I was kinda peeved when someone started tailgating me in the far left lane. So I moved over and a 96-98 mustang GT flew by me. I didn't think I could beat him, but I thought what the hell, and floored it. By about 110 I was right at his bumber and could hear his engine going all out. By 120 I was dead even with him, so I shut it down. He dropped back a few seconds later, got even and gunned it again. This time I was ready and inched by him. I've heard about some of the 5-speeds beating the 96-98's, but I wasn't quite sure about my auto. That guy was ****ed too. Looking over at my car, not me, and cussing. Guess he didn't expect the 4-door family sedan to walk his V8 mustang.

I can pull car lenghts from HW speed also, though I have a vew mods. From a STOP however, it will be harder for you to beat this car.

Doesn't it feel great to prove the "I think I'm bad" boys wrong. Make them eat a little Maxima-crow from time to time.

I will say though, the mentality that some have that the Maxima is some 4 door "family" car is NOT true. hehe...

yep, I'm thinking he'd beat me off the line, but I don't know by how much. But he got the jump on me when I was going about 70, and I still caught him and passed him up. Every time I win a real race (not some riced out civic), I want to put even more mods on, (all I have now is the OSCAI) but for now I think I'm gonna hold off and look at the '02 max...I think they'd notice if I punched out the cat before trading it in...I think it'd be more worthwhile spending a little more and getting a 6-speed and the 260 hp vs. a supercharger and a lot of other stuff for my auto. Just hope I can afford it.

From my experiences, stock for stock.. A Maxima 5-speed will eat those GT's for lunch...
