Traded in my 2003 Max...
I have had it with my Maxima(slipping tranny, shuddering brakes, a/c fan noises, window regulator issues, torque steer, sporadically working interior speakers, chipping paint, etc.) Not to mention the high insurance rates...
So I bought myself a 2006 Dodge Charger with the 3.5l engine rated at 250hp and 250 ft/lb torque at 3500 rpm. It has leather interior, sirius satellite radio, 6 disc indash cd changer, uconnect bluetooth, electronic stability control, and a few other things. I must say that I was skeptical of buying an american car but since it is built on the same platform as the new 300 and Magnum and there have been minimal issues with them so far, I decided to give it a shot.
So far I love the car. I am still breaking it in, since it only had 4 miles on it when I bought it, I haven't opened her up as of yet. It is a huge car so it is very easy to misjudge my speed, and I can't feel the torque since its RWD. The car is still very quick.
Ok enough talking here are some quick shots of it:

Thanks for everything guys, I have learned a lot from you and hope to continue to learn more and more.

How much is the insurance with the new car?
How is the MPG rating?
How many miles did you have on your 2003 Maxima?
Good luck and hopefully you will have less transmission problems with this new car.

mersedez is more upscale but may not be more reliable than nissan, altho they sure feel 100 times more solid, anyway this isnt a mercedez build in germany its a dodge built in the us. but anyway like others said let the guy enjoy it and no point to make him feel bad.

I shopped insurance for over a month and wound up with allstate. I have a perfect driving record but its my age, the car and the area that I live in that pushes premiums up for me. Everyone else wanted to charge at least 1200 more than what I was paying. I think I will reshop again since I have the new car.
Thanks for the kind words guys.

Damn dude...when I traded the '01 AE on the C, my insurance stayed the same.

Do you have any actual knowledge, at all??????
First hand experience: My driving style in both the 5 speed AE and the C (aggressive, WOT launches, etc.) resulted in a mileage diff. of only 1-3 mpgs overall between the two...with a crud load more tq in the C. Hardly mileage that 'sucks'...

tisk tisk 3.5 with 250/250 to the flywheel. you lost more power than what a maxima puts down to the wheels. You have a driveshaft and a rear to transfer power to. enjoy that crap, way to support this country. Srt-8 version is way better that just looks horrid. Each to his own.

Mrmj1218, don't worry about what these people are saying on here. You got yourself a nice ride there. I can sympathize with you on having to limit your choice of motor because of insurance costs. Try getting a quick quote from Progressive. I saved about $500 per year from them.
