I think the bulb is to long, not to mention, the projector lens is NOT made for HID's so they will give off an aweful glare.

If you want to go HID, have your headlights reto-fitted with HID projectors.

If you wanna put HID's in the projector headlights, you def need to do a retro, as stated above because the projectors that come with those are crap!

the retro takes some time, but it is really worth it, the light output is great.

Goto Cardomain and lookup this kid roymac. He tells you exactly the reasons and shows you what you must do the retrofit the projectors. It looks really good but only if you have the patience an time to actually undergo to switch. I haven't worked up enough ***** to bake my lights yet.... good luck

You can also go to the hidplanet forums and learn about projectors and HIDs. It should give you an idea on how both work.

sorry to re-open this up again, but i looked on roymac's site and i only really found on how to do the swap.. my only frustration is, if i buy an h3 HID kit, would it work with the projectors? (regardless of the output quality)

Not only is it a waste of money, but it is irresponsible and dangerous. Not to mention the guy sitting in his car in front of you will get out of his car and smash your headlights with a tack hammer.

How much $$ did you pay for the eBay headlights?

I bought these projectors when it first came out. It looks awesome on the car but the light output and beam pattern sux. I tried different types of H3 bulbs but the result was that the projector itself was junk. That is why a number of guys including myself are in the process or have retrofit these headlights with better projectors.

These ebay headlights would be a great product IF they had better projectors. But they don't which is why lot of guys say it's junk and it's a waste of money so you shouldn't get them.

So the way I look at it is...if you are NOT planning on doing a retrofit, do NOT get these headlights. If you ARE willing to invest the time and money into having your own custom set of projector headlights, then get them.

lol Im a noob about maximas... and am getting a 00 SE very soon. I was told that the projectors have bad output but was also told that for the 2000 model maxima the lights will physically fit but ill have to do some rewiring for them to work unlike the 2k2 and 2k3 is this true? and is there a thread on how to "retrofit" your projectors? Thanks

I wrote up a Sticky. Who do I send it to? I think it needs to get vetted by the moderators.
