5 speed transmission leak consequences

My 5 speed 2000 SE is leaking transmission oil after two very recent seal replacements (driver's side) and older posts to this forum suggest the problem may lie with wear on the differential carrier bearings. Other than the leak, there is no evidence of malfunction. I was wondering what the consequence might be of driving this car long distances in this condition.

I had a leak in my 5speed 2000 SE i replaced the seals it didnt help. its ok to drive that way, as long as you have a sufficent amount of fluid in the trans. i ended up having to rebuild the tranny ($3000) so its def not a good thing. but buy some gear oil and locate the fill plug on the tranny and keep it so that when you stick your pinky in the hole, you can feel liquid. (BTW the 2k se is sold and the owner is having no problems with leaks)
