from cai to short intake, good or bad?

hey guys,
i had a Cold Air Intake, i bought it from ebay for like $50, and i thought that it was standing way too low, and i was scared to drive through standing water, especially during rain, because i heard that some people had their filter suck up water. So what i did was, I took the CAI, cut it and made it shorter, and now filter is right next to the batter. All the 3 tubes that were supposed to be on intake are still at the same place. And the black thing that you plug into the CAI, i took that and i had to drill another whole and put the rubberthingy and pluged in the black thingy. lol. I dont think that makes sense at all. lol
here is a pic, maybe it will help
cant find any pics rite now, but i'll take some pics in like couple hours and i'll post them,
thanks, just let me know if its bad what i did or if its good for the engine/car
thank you

CAI's suck *** unless it is the Place racing CAI. You loose a lot of low end with them. Berk short Ram with Apexi filter FTW!

What exactly do you mean by saying "over stock?"

Maybe I sound like an idiot but I just don't get it.

Its a joke. The dyno is suppose to show what I got over stock as in addition to my base line dyno.

So lets say i dynoed a 150 whp + 107 whp= 257 whp with jus injen intake.

Get a Place Racing CAI if you want, or any short ram intake, or the GAB (info in the How-Tos). You could also look into a y-pipe and b-pipe. I doubt there are any reflashes for 2000s.

Well, the fact that they told you it works probably implies that they don't know jack about anything....

Damn ricer

Mine and your actual (uncorrected)#'s would be pretty close since you're in SLC.

Typically, (from what I've seen) SLC CF's are in the 1.13-1.15 range, wheras mine have been in the 1.16-1.23 arena.
So yea...

About the $20 BS

Well my cuz has one on his '94 automatic and all it does is cause the engine to rev to about 4000 on every shift.......................My take its asking for trouble!

Get a supercharged sticker and put it on the trunk,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it'll give you more torque!LOL!
