nonono, i mean the lens, and SMOKE them. they painted the area around the lenses in that thread. my lenses are kinda scratched and i tried the cleaning method and no help, so i was thinkin if i smoke the lens it will still look ok. was hopin to get some insight on that.

So you want tinted headlights? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having HIDs if you're gonna reduce light output by "smoking" the lens?

Have you tried plastic polish? 3M makes one and so does Meguiar's (Plastx).

No it would not...

Have you tried refinishing them?

Use 800grit, 1500grit and then 2000grit sandpaper and then plastix to re-do them.

dont ghetto out your car with "smoked" headlights, but if you must then, go to a hobby shop and get testors tint paint, its like 3 bucks. paint your headlights and have fun.

they would only be a different colour, while output would suffer w/ 30K's, and with this proposed smoking Hoop needs the output

well i wouldnt do this to my car, but thats y your asking the question and not me...BUT im always up to a challanging question, the way i operate, i only do something if i can put it back to stock, so heres my idea. i know 3M sells protective static cling clear plastic sheets for our headlights and foglights, buy these and spray tint them, so if you dont like the look or u wana take them off at night time, you can do so. Good luck, post pics when your done, even though its not my cup of tea, i still GIVE YOU PROPS FOR DOING SOMETHING NO ONE ELSE HAS i have sceene it on a 6th gen, AND IT LOOKS SICK

lamin X. they make smoked colored(if u can call smoke a color) same thing as tint, but made for headlights. or u could always nightshade them, spray on tint.

personally id bake them and paint the chrome black, plenty of people have done it, theres even write ups. thats what i did to my stock 00s and they look smoked/blacked out. but still allow as much light output as stock, as little as that may be.
