Thumping while hard cornering?

when i first started driving my max, when i took hard corners i would hear a dragging sound from the corner of the car that would be lowest. at first i thought my bumper was dragging on the ground...obviously not the case. then i thought it was abs. lately when i take hard corners i try not to brake, and it seems like the same thing. feels like something is bumping/dragging on the ground...any idea wth this might be?

It could be all that HP for your y-pipe and intake.

i think that its about time you grow up. so hp makes a difference in cornering eh? why dont you go take a dragster through some s-turns, with 7k hp or wutever they have they should handle like they on rails. im gettin my dyno tomorrow so i can get you to stfu.

Do you have a baseline dyno?? otherwise we will never know what you have gained!!! what a shame that would be.

PS- I have taken 400HP cars for a run.. and yes they are FUN in the corners. They are really fun when you crack a windshield doing a 180*.

you guys obviously dont read the same posts i read. when i first got into the .org i read a thread that said some ppl have dyno'd intake + y-pipe at 20hp over baseline. since i dont have an original baseline, we can figure the highest stock dyno that you can find, that works for me. would 17whp over that number make you feel like 20 is possible?

400hp? you say better handling with more power, you have to go with what has the most power like i told you. dragster i believe is the most you can find without getting away from ICE's

More like 13-15 whp, If your lucky. But you might be at 20+ whp cuz of your 17* timing advance.

You might have also been looking at 5th gens. 5th gens get better results from ypipes than 5.5 gens

yeh i saw that. i dont think theyre dragging on the ground though. its the same feeling as abs, but im pretty sure its not and its only in the 1 corner when that side is pressed down. ive checked and its not something hitting the road.

No im not saying that the lining is hitting the road, the tire is hitting so it sounds like a dragging noise.

Nope, I never said they have they handle the best, they are fun though....

But that was also not a maxima... It was an F-Body 1986 FireBird Formula with a 1976 Corvette Motor.

V8 F-body with a vette motor > you

Could maybe be a compression issue with the suspension where the strut isn't supporting the spring and overall weight of the car properly -- causing the piston to hit that top hat? Does it sort of sound like a somewhat squish-like noise?

Your car is super high, so i don't think it's the tires rubbing on the fenders like when i had my car really low. Could be a bad axle.
The dealership changed mine, because i had a clunk-clunk-clunk every time i turned left fairly hard. It was the passenger side axle. Do you get noise turning both ways?

ya, both ways. and its not a squish or a rub, try to remember what your abs sounds like when working...just like that but only on 1 side.
