So, the other day this dumb chick was too busy Tammy Fayeing her makeup on, and bumped me from behind changing lanes. I now have four identical, shallow dents from license plate bolts. I was looking into Bondoing/painting them, but as a bodywork noob, was looking for advice.

 

do you have any pix? i dont know if those paintless repairs work on the bumper.

do you want to paint it yourself? i would take it to a shop since they will do a better job matching it up, ive seen alot of ppl who painted their bumpers, and you could tell its been painted. Especial since you have a white

 

Nah, no pix. But you know how the bumpers are. Good news is that the dents aren't really deep, in fact only one is super-noticable. My thought was to "fill" the dents, and just be careful regarding pain color choice.

My biggest question revolved around the filler material. Should it be Bondo, or something else that maybe flexes more?

I want to get this taken care of too. I doubt I can make it look good unless I get the entire bumper repainted (not happening).

 

LOL, sort of! Mine is actually in a rectangular pattern, matching the plate outline almost perfectly. Unlike yours, I don't have the scratches. Mine are indentations that look quite fillable, but my main concern is with what?

 

You'll need professional body work done to fill in the indentations and get new paint. You can minimize the problem by using some rubbing compound and simple wax to buff out any scratches or scuffs until you go to the body shop.

 

uhhh, did this girl have insurance? take it anywhere that her insurance says, then maybe look for a place cheaper, get a check from the insurance place and tell the cheaper place to do it, then buy a stillen lip with the cash you pocketed. if she doesnt have insurance...that sucks

 

Bondo on plastic flexable bumpers

It might not last that long, since her insurace is paying for it, get a new bumper.

 

yeh, the bondo will crack and POSSIBLY fall off. just get it professionaly done
