Anyone changed the tranny solenoids themselves?

My tranny showing symptoms described in the TSB , hard shifting from 1st to 2 nd, and I am wondering if anyone changed the soleinoids themselves and how difficult and costly is the job? I am over my warranty period btw.

I considered it at one point. The TSB for it has step-by-step instructions. I think the whole job calls for something like an hour to do... Once you get the pan down it seems like a straight forward job...

I would suggest that you replace the oil first and see if that improves it... You could try with simple drain and fill... How often do you replace the oil anyway?

Change tranny fluid every 30k.
I have the TSB, but the copy is in bad shape, anyone have one with clear pictures?

It takes about 45 minutes to remove the solenoid packs. The first time I did it, it took about 2 hrs. That includes jacking up the car, draining the fluid, taking off the pan, removing the VB, etc. Let me know if you are looking for a solenoid pack. I have an almost brand new one with 2 miles on it.

Consider getting the tranny properly diagonsed and changing the fluid first before shelling out $ into a part that may be on its way out.
