I saw on some Max that was a 2000 that had the regular 2000 GLE steering wheel, but he had the chrome hamburger in the middle the 2002 Max.

does anyone know if you can just buy one and affix it to the steering wheel??

I thought it would make a nice touch in my car to go with the gauge rings.

 

I'm not sure if it's an actual seperate piece that you can affix to the steering wheel, but you can attach a small emblem on the wheel if you want. Some may say that this may be a safety issue if the airbag should deploy, and the emblem may fly off and hit you in the face or something. At first, when I got my car, I had placed an emblem on the steering wheel....but then removed it later on, because now i think it's just too ricey.

 

The one I saw was smaller than that one. It was the exact size of the existing one in the middle of the steering wheel. like the same size as the 2002 steering wheel hamburger. but yea, that one looks a little to large and gaudy, the smaller one I thought looked nice.

 

The smaller one is the exact same size as the emblem found on the center caps.

 

I asked my dealer parts guy and he said that it is not a separate part. I think it looks pretty good on the 2002/2003. oh well ...

 

I would love to get one of those! Exclusively for the reason that it would smack me in the face upon airbag deployment and permanently tat me with "Nissan"!

That would be a sign of a true Maxi fanatic.. Officially branded with the Logo. lol. Of coarse it might be a little painful at first.
