armrest...

i know im not the only one, i cant be!!! does anyone have any ideas to keep that damn adjustable armrest from popping up when going through gears? i always bump it going into 2nd and then i shift into 3rd and itll pop up to the raised position and when i goto get in 4th, BAM! i smack my elbow and have trouble gettin in 4th. mabye i just have long arms or sit back to far in my seat but this happens a few times a day and its starting to bother me. im about to drive around with the lid open all the time, or take the thing off

I've just learned how to adapt. I'm 6 foot, so I sit back far too and have long arm's, but I've only had the car for two weeks also.

You could open it up and cut out the mechanism that triggers the folding. That way you could leave the button for looks and cure your problem.

im 6'4"...seat is all the way back as well and i havnt run into any problems...grab the top of the shifter, palm down on the #'s, that will raise your elbow prolly inches from a side grip if thats what your using...good luck, just sounds like u need to try a different style.
